Gypsy Trade Australia: A Family business with a cause

Fashion and design have always been passions of Lola's... little did she know that her passion would grow into a successful full-time business.

Welcome to Gypsy Trade Australia!!

Founded earlier this year by Lola Williams, Gypsy Trade Australia began as a small business to sell her father's vintage clothing, however shortly after launching, Gypsy Trade Australia transformed into what is now a leading seller in South Australia's vintage and sustainable fashion division.

The name Gypsy trade originates from Ms. Williams' late grandfather who was born and raised in England as a Romani Gypsy. As an ode to him, she thought what better way to capture his memory than by naming the company after him.

"My father originally started the company with the intent to sell his vintage clothing however he soon realised the need to appeal to a younger audience, so with that in mind he asked for my help and now along with my partner, we run Gypsy Trade Australia!", Ms. Williams states.

The Gypsy Trade would not be what is today without the rock of the company, Rockin' Robin; Lolas Volkswagen Kombi Van.

"The good thing about selling out of a van is the fact that we can just load her up with all of our stock before a market or event, take out what we need and then whatever is left can come back with us. It's easy and effective for the trading that we do", Ms. Williams states

Selling vintage and preloved clothing at an affordable price, the Gypsy Trade appears at some of South Australia's leading markets including Gilles at the Grounds.

Gypsy Trade Australia aims to stop the spread of fast fashion and promotes the purchasing of preloved and vintage clothing

"You can turn a vintage item into a modern-day piece, you can see that it is now the new trend in society, people are just catching on to it now", Ms. Williams States
