FIVE Vintage stores in Adelaide you must visit 

If you're looking for something fun and exciting to do whilst in the city centre of Adelaide, be sure to check out these five vintage and sustainable stores for all your slow fashion needs!

1. Adelaide Vintage: Tucked away on the third floor of the Myer Center in Rundle Mall, sits the quirkiest vintage store in Adelaide. You will be greeted by the smell of freshly roasted coffee beans and sweet baked cakes as this vintage store is also, yes you guessed it.... a cafe! For the last seven years, Adelaide Vintage has prided itself in promoting the sale of clothing created by local fashion designers along with its unique flair of retro and vintage clothing spanning over multiple decades.

Price Range: Varies depending on the item/ brand

What I love: Coffee and Clothes... do I need to say anymore?

2. The Lion The Witch Vintage:  Located just off Rundle Street on Frome Street, is the iconic The Lion The Witch Vintage. With its beaming red vintage sign, you simply cannot miss this beauty of a store. Don't be fooled by the size of the store as they are by far one of the leading vintage retailers in Adelaide! From vintage Levi overalls to groovy sunglasses, The Lion The Witch has you covered. You might be asking yourself why the name The Lion The Witch Vintage.... well if you wish to try on some clothing, you may have to walk into the closet that leads to Narnia.....

Price Range: Most of the items are at a high price point as the brands sold are of high quality and status 

​

What I love: The music played within the store gives it a great ambience, multi-level flooring and of course the Narnia themed change rooms!

3. Fox On The Run Vintage:  

A vintage store you are guaranteed to have walked past many times... Fox On The Run Vintage is an underground vintage store located on rundle street that sells premium vintage clothing and local artist jewellery. As you travel down the staircase you will be welcomed into a vintage wonderland, filled with vintage denim, colourful sweatshirts and of course some groovy music. Fox On The Run is bound to have something that tickles your fancy!

Price Range: Their average prices are quite expensive as their products are of high quality. Be sure to keep this into consideration when shopping.

What I love: It's underground! Very friendly staff, multi-level flooring, all gender inclusive, supports local artists and designers.

4. Midwest Trader:  This groovy little vintage store has all your forward fashion needs!! 

This proud family-owned vintage store has been serving Adelaide the best vintage and sustainable clothing since 1992! Located in the East End, this groovy little vintage store has all your forward fashion needs!! From Harley T-shirts to American sports apparel, Midwest Trader has something for you!

 

Price Range: Varies however overall is very Affordable for a vintage clothing store 

 

What I Love: American apparel, rare vintage brands including Lee, Champion and Harley Davidson, aesthetic location.

5. Sustainable Clothing Co:  

Formerly known as Lucid8 Ethical Streetwear, Sustainable Clothing Co is a treasure trove of sustainable fashion!! Selling locally made clothing, up-cycled pieces as well as hemp and organic cotton clothing, the Sustainable Clothing Co prides itself in providing environmentally friendly fashion to the people of Adelaide.

 

Price Range: Depending on the items you buy will depend on the expense.

 

What I Love: their mission is purely focussed on stopping the fast fashion trend, they are proving that sustainable and ethically sourced streetwear is fashionable!
